Good Eatin’

Has anybody done any truly scientific tests to figure out, once and for all, why do guys love cooking huge chunks of meat over open flames? Is it really due to our caveman past, where we grilled chunks of wooly mammoth over lightning-sparked fire pits?

Yesterday, I spent the afternoon with my dad, grilling tasty, beer-basted (Sam Adams!) churrasco (something I learned from Ricardo) and thick, juicy steaks, while my mom and wife stared at us in confusion and resignation. I really cannot find the words to express our manly attraction to that oh-so-special combination of smoke, fire and dead animal carcasses.

As you all know, our geeks aren’t the exception. They also love the grill, although sometimes they suffer hiccups in the process.  It’s all part of the typical summer fun.

Remember, you can show your love of fire and burning stuff by heading down to our NerdGear shop and ordering our very own BBQ Apron. It is an awesome way to a. show your nerdiness and b. help us with our ever increasing server costs. So, order one now!

Thanks for the support!

Cheers!

Pete

Maybe its not the meat but the fire? Playing with fire is sooo spellbinding. The added pleasure of eating something tasty as a consequence of playing with that primordial force that has fascinated men for so long just makes it so much more attractive. This leads to the prime drive in men(and women). Men like fire and women as much as we do, they feel disgust because they don’t get to play with the flames as much as we do, thus leaving that unfulfilled desire to turn to bitter thoughts of repression and disillusion. Then again they refrain from complaining because they know that men will always be boys, childish and petty about their toys. That said, be true to your primal instincts, they shall lead you to the true path of freedom! (Insert really cool picture of idealized manly power here, sword in hand)
