Thor Trailer is Online (Finally!)

Comicbook movie has just posted the full trailer for the upcoming Thor movie.

Check it out here!

Pros: Thor looks fantastic, so does Loki. Asgard looks incredible, Anthony Hopkins makes an awesome Odin.

Cons: I am not convinced with what the trailer shows with the plot. It looks kind of cliche and predictable. I really hope the movie shows more of Asgard that of Midgard.

Geek Thoughts – Green Lantern’s Costume

Well Geek and Geekettes here it is the first look at Green Lantern’s costume.

I am not impressed at all. In the DC Universe, Green Lantern’s costume appears on him with a simple thought, not like Batman, The Flash and Superman, in which they have to do a wardrobe change.  So the idea of doing the costume in CGI works quite well for this live-action film, but the costume design…COME ON! An all green skintight body suit? Could you have gone with the original design, green-black and white gloves? Yes it will be less work for the CGI team to go all green cause they will be working with only one color, but I’m a geek who enjoys seeing his comic books heroes be as authentic as possible on the big screen as in the comics and those are Green Lantern’s trademark colors, just as Superman is blue and red and, The Flash is all red with gold lighting blots.  Well, we have to see how the rest of the geek world reacts to new Green Lantern costume, plus I will be really attentive to Green Lantern panel at this year Comic Con.

Is the Bone Movie Incoming?

We love Jeff Smith’s Bone graphic novel series a whole lot, and we’ve been suggesting they should turn the adventures of the eponymous character and his cousins into a movie for a while now.  Well, apparently, the movie is on its way. In an interview with John Canemaker from Print Magazine, Smith said that Bone, the movie, is “on track and a director will soon be announced.” Smith is serving as the projects executive producer and “although he is not writing the screenplay, all quality control decisions pass through him.”

“I’ve seen everything,” Smith said. “It’s their project. But they’ve been very good about keeping me in the loop and showing me everything and it’s pretty exciting so far.”

Fantastic, we say!

WTF News: Neil Patrick Harris to Star in Smurfs Movie

Yes, you read that right. Geek favorite, and all-around walking epic win, Neil Patrick Harris is set to star in a live action/CGI Smurf feature film. The film is planned to be released in summer 2011.

Hey, if Avatar worked, why not the original, beloved, primitive, communist blue society, right? Let’s just hope they don’t show us all those scenes with Smurf cannibalism.

They should get Gary Oldman to play Gargamel, Rainn Wilson to play Peewee, Felicia Day to voice Smurfette, Wil Wheaton to voice Brainy and James Earl Jones to voice Papa Smurf. That would make it a smurfy geek lovefest.
